Hi there! I am the webmistress of this site. A writer who only has basic coding knowledge but hyperfixated on making her own digital space outside of traditional social media, so here we are.

After spending a gruelling and miserable amount of time on socials, I went back to my grandma hobbies last 2024. That includes journaling, fountain pens, and writing stories. Now, I relearned how to code and decided to start somewhere. That is how this website came to be. Trying something outside of my comfort zone.

I am old enough to survive the Tumblr apocalypse but too young to be on MySpace. I am from that weird transition period where social media apps just discovered personalized algorithms. I was also there for the rise and fall of Vine and that is when I learned that short-form video content is not for me. Also, I hate Tiktok and Twitter (I'm not calling it X) with a passion.

I hope that is more than enough for your curiosity.

Warning: I am a writer so I will yap all day. This website is my attempt to learn web design and coding and will reflect my journey through it. Some of the topics that I will post here are about journaling, fountain pens, stationery and some of my analog and low-tech hobbies. You will also see book reviews which are mostly whychoose romance. I'm currently in the romance hell right now, so if I read other genre you'll see them here too. I have a lot of special interests, if I yap about them, you'll read about them. There is my gallery that will serve as own version of Instagram/Tumblr. And if I ever write my silly little stories again, this will be their home. In the mean time, read my essays here.

Love, Michy is officially published on 2026 June. But, it was 6 months before that when I decided to try Neocities. I initially used a template from Itinerae and in August, I chose to overhaul my site with my own code and design for practice.

This is my first attempt in building my own personal website. I have a very minimal knowledge of HTML, only started learning about CSS, and know nothing about Javascript. But I still want to build this website by hand without AI. You can check my credits page for a more in-depth behind-the-scenes.

Once the enshitiffication of social media started, I slowly pulled away from them. I went back to reading books, writing fiction, sudoku, crosswords, and legos instead of endless scrolling. So, you will not find me on Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter, Threads and Instagram. The only social media I have are BlueSky and Tumblr for fandom pursposes only. Meanwhile, this site will house every blog, interest, and hobby that I have. Though my long-form blog posts will be projected from Leaflet, all of my other stuff will only be posted here.
